Privacy Policy
How Alabama Pet Transport Services handles the information you share with us.
Last updated:
1. Who we are
Alabama Pet Transport Services (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a family-owned pet transportation business based in Alabama, United States, operating this website at alabamapettransport.com. You can reach us about anything in this policy by texting or calling (205) 753-5659.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to quote and carry out a pet transport. That is:
- Contact details you give us — your name and phone number.
- Trip details — pickup and drop-off locations, timing, and information about the animal travelling, including any medical, dietary or behavioural notes you choose to share.
- Messages — the content of texts, calls and any other correspondence between us.
We do not ask for and do not want payment card numbers, bank details, government identification numbers or account passwords through this website.
The quote form on this site
The quote form on our contact page does not transmit anything to a server. It assembles the details you type into a text message in your own device’s messaging app, which you then choose whether to send. Until you press send in that app, the information stays on your device and we never receive it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site may be served through a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs — such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
Fonts and third-party requests
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those font files, Google receives the request, including your IP address, under Google’s privacy policy. We do not send any of your personal information to Google.
3. Cookies and tracking
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run cross-site tracking or advertising pixels on it. If that changes in future, we will update this policy and provide a cookie notice before any such technology is used.
4. How we use your information
- To prepare and send you a quote.
- To plan, schedule and carry out your pet’s transport safely.
- To keep you updated during the trip, including sending photographs of your pet.
- To follow up with you after delivery.
- To keep records of the transports we have performed, and to meet legal, tax and USDA-related obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We share it only where it is necessary to do the job or to comply with the law:
- With the person at the other end of the transport — for example a shelter, rescue, breeder, or the family receiving the pet — where contact between the two ends is needed to complete the trip.
- With a veterinarian or emergency animal care provider, if your pet needs medical attention while in our care.
- With service providers who help us operate, such as our website host, limited to what they need to provide that service.
- Where we are required to do so by law, court order, or a lawful request from a regulatory authority.
6. Photographs of your pet
We take photographs during transport and send them to you. If we would like to use a photograph of your animal publicly — on this website or on social media — we will ask you first, and you are free to say no. You may also ask us at any time to stop using a photograph we have already published, and we will remove it.
7. Text messages
Texting is our main way of working with customers. When you text us, your phone number and the content of your messages are stored on our phones and by our mobile carrier. Message and data rates from your own carrier may apply. We use your number to communicate about your transport — not for marketing campaigns — and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
8. How long we keep information
We keep transport records for as long as we need them to run the business and to satisfy legal, tax and regulatory requirements. Casual enquiries that do not become bookings are kept only for as long as they are useful, and you may ask us to delete yours sooner.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including keeping it on a small number of devices that are secured and accessible only to the two of us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small.
10. Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
- Ask us to stop contacting you.
Text or call (205) 753-5659 and tell us what you would like. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we will honour valid requests under those laws.
11. Children
This website is intended for adults arranging pet transport. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other sites
Where we link to another website, that site’s own privacy policy governs what it does with your information. We are not responsible for the practices of sites we do not operate.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the revised version here and update the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
14. Contact us
Questions about privacy, or a request about your information? Text or call (205) 753-5659. We are reachable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
